NBC New York reported a story where a lady and her children nearly lost their lives and home to a fire because of their Federal Pacific Panel.
In fact this same article pointed out that nearly 2,800 home fires are started by FP panels and breakers each year since they were installed back as early as the 1950s.
The basic problem with these breakers and panels is that the breakers will not "trip" when an overload condition is present. Although a "tripping breaker" can be a hassle, it is doing its job when it trips to protect you and your home.
Next month, I will tell you of a personal story that I recently had with a customer who had a Federal Pacific Panel. So, do you know the maker of your electrical panel(s)? If not, check it out. If you own this panel, give me a call for consultation.
Warm Regards
